Children With Wings™

Background/Vision

Through a powerful coaching experience, Marcy Morrison uncovered that her life's purpose is to provide children with wings to rise above poverty.

Marcy’s vision for Children with Wings continues to evolve.  She has come to realize that her Careers with Wings and Children with Wings work are meant to be tied together, because it is via career training children can find their path out of poverty.

Marcy has been working on collaborating her vision with other organizations with a similar vision for example with Kelly Sullivan Walden who developed the UN Dream Project and Donna Pinto of Kids for Peace.

Marcy has also realized like Kelly and Donna that the world’s children are the ones that will lead the way in developing solutions to poverty and also like Kelly, Marcy sees herself as a facilitator to this incredible resource that our children are.

Through discussions, Marcy also sees the possibility that school curriculum can be redeveloped to incorporate her Careers with Wings philosophy where she firmly believes that each person needs to follow their own passion and their own strengths and then apply that to how they can make the biggest impact to making our world a better place.

Marcy’s bigger vision is to develop an internet based television show around the Children with Wings concept to inspire the children of the world to work together to create abundance and joy for everyone around the world.

Marcy has also been inspired by several books that have set her on a quest to find empowering solutions (wings) for children and communities to rise above poverty throughout the world. Marcy was greatly inspired by John Wood's book Leaving Microsoft to Change the World, which is the story of his organization Room to Read a remarkable organization that is giving children wings to rise above poverty by building schools and libraries in conjunction with local communities around the world.

Another influential book is the End of Poverty by Jeffrey Sachs, which outlines solutions to ending poverty. His solutions have been put into action with the UN Millennium Project. Another inspirational book is by Muhummad Yunus Banker to the Poor.   A book that covers empowering economic solutions to poverty is Capitalism at the Crossroads by Stuart Hall.

Marcy is presently working on finding empowering solutions for communities living in poverty. If you have a project that is along these lines, please contact Marcy Morrison to discuss ways to collaborate.

“Marcy is the "extra set of hands" that you dream about -- she's there when you know there is so much opportunity out there, but you just don't have the time or resources to take advantage of it. It has been wonderful working with her - she is passionate about the work that I am doing and has helped me immensely by connecting me with various groups and people that are interested in furthering the mission of Just Like My Child Foundation. Her energy and enthusiasm have been inspiring - everyone needs a personal cheerleader.”
